We look forward to the first Shabbat dinner of the new (school) year.
On Friday we returned home after being away for eight weeks. It's the longest time we have ever been away from our home.
Today is our last day away from Waltham, after being away for eight weeks. The first seven weeks in NYC, the last week in Vermont.
On Sunday Chanie the kids and I went to the home of a student's family for a BBQ. Present were also friends of the family, including their community's Chabad Rabbi and his family, he is a an old friend of mine. Over great food, great weather and in an enormous Westchester backyard we got to know each other and enjoyed a lovely afternoon together.
In the last twenty four hours I have learned something that I am still coming to terms with.
Six months Chanie and I went out to a restaurant in NYC to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It also happened to be winter break at Brandeis.
On Thursday of last week, 6/24, we had a get together with alumni at a lounge in NYC. The event was an opportunity for us to see alumni whom we have not seen in a while, for alumni to see each other and a fundraiser for Chabad. It was also the kickoff to our summer in NYC (which I will write about on a later post).
A while ago a dear friend and alumnus recommended I begin a blog. Immediately I dismissed the idea.
